Allure: A powerful and refined design
The new E-5008 is distinguished by its strong SUV character, combined with an aerodynamic silhouette and a refined interior with exceptional space and onboard comfort.
The E-5008’s relatively high beltline and pronounced shoulders give it a strong road presence, as do its generous dimensions (L 4.79m, W 1.89m, H 1.69m).
At the front, the E-5008 features the new PEUGEOT light signature and the innovative front grille design that blends into the body colour. The sophisticated grille is highlighted by a slim and elegant black band that wraps around the entire front of the E-5008 and incorporates ultra-slim LED headlights on all versions. On GT models, the headlights integrate PEUGEOT’s new Pixel LED technology as standard. This automatically adapts the headlights to traffic conditions, maintaining optimal lighting without disturbing other road users.
Continuing the innovative work that started on the PEUGEOT 408 and the new E-3008, the new E-5008 features wheels that contribute to its modern styling and aerodynamic performance. The E-5008 is available with either 19-inch or 20-inch wheels with a geometric design featuring the PEUGEOT emblem at its centre.
The new E-5008 embraces sophistication and simplicity, with smooth, sleek, and vertical sides, thus emphasizing refinement by concealing the side window seals in the doors. Chrome that featured on the outgoing 5008 has been removed in favour of splashes of colour in key areas, such as Meteor Grey on the front spoiler and rear bumper, and Orbital Black on the mirror housings and the lower part of the beltline.
The new E-5008 is available in six colours: Obsession Blue, Ingaro Blue, Okenite White, Nera Black, Cumulus Grey, and Titane Grey. On the GT version, two-tone paint with a diamond black roof is specified as standard.
The superior interior refinement of the new E-5008 benefits all passengers. For example, the elegant aluminium trim and the customizable ambient LED lighting, available in eight colours, extend across the dashboard to the front doors and continue into the rear. Together, they create a high-quality and welcoming environment for all passengers.
Emotion: PEUGEOT Panoramic i-Cockpit®
Inside, the spectacular 21-inch PEUGEOT Panoramic i-Cockpit® display puts passengers in an environment that is as high-tech as it is user-friendly and is featured as standard across the range. Two of the fundamental elements of the previous generation i-Cockpit®, the raised head-up display and the large central touchscreen, have been integrated into a single curved panoramic screen with a single 21-inch high-definition panel extending from the right side of the dashboard to the centre console. This panoramic display appears to float above the dashboard thanks to ambient LED lighting underneath.
The 21-inch display is slightly curved towards the driver. To the left, and above the compact steering wheel, the display shows all the driving information, speed, power meter, driving aids, and energy flow. To the right, in the centre of the dashboard, the touchscreen is accessible to both the driver and passenger. It controls the heating and air conditioning, navigation, media and connectivity systems. Both are fully customisable to suit the driver’s individual needs.
The compact steering wheel has been extensively reworked to offer an even greater driving experience. The redesigned central cushion is smaller and ‘isolated’ from the steering wheel spokes to give a levitating effect reminiscent of the panoramic screen on the dashboard.
The controls on the compact steering wheel are also new. They are large and automatically detect the driver’s fingers for optimum ergonomics but are only activated when the driver presses them to avoid mistaken activation. The new compact steering wheel is heated as standard on GT trim.
Safety technology
Thanks to dynamic chassis settings in the PEUGEOT tradition, the new E-5008 is at ease and efficient on main roads and agile in the city. To make manoeuvring easier, the E-5008 is fitted with a reversing camera as standard, offering the driver two angles, a rearview or a bird’s-eye view. This camera is equipped with a cleaning nozzle for a clear image in all conditions.
As an option, the new E-5008 can be fitted with the PEUGEOT 360° Vision system which provides a 360° view of the car thanks to four cameras positioned as close as possible to the front and rear wheels and 12 sensors spread around the car. This makes it possible to avoid any obstacle close to the vehicle.
The new E-5008 features more than 40 driver assistance and safety systems and safety equipment. With the Drive Assist Plus 2.0 system, the PEUGEOT E-5008 supports the driver by using all the car’s sensors and information from the connected navigation system. Key features include:
- Adaptive cruise control with Stop & Go function and lane positioning assist: This manages the steering and speed of the new E-5008 to keep it in lane and at a speed pre-set by the driver.
- Semi-automatic lane change: Will assist the driver with safe lane changes. Simply activate the turn signal and press the “OK” button on the steering wheel, and the system will steer you into the desired new lane.
- Advance speed recommendation: Can detect any change in the speed limit by reading road signs and gathering information from the connected navigation system suggesting that the driver accordingly adjust the Adaptive Cruise Control setting.
Interior space
Thanks to its wheelbase, the new E-5008 offers generous legroom for passengers in row two, and row three sets a new benchmark in the C-SUV segment in terms of usability.
Row two of the new E-5008 is fitted with comfortable seats that combine a 60/40 bench sliding seat with 40/20/40 backrests, providing the optimum combination of modularity and comfort. The backrests of the seats in row two recline independently in five positions for passenger comfort on long journeys. Particular attention has been paid to the finish, with high-quality trim used for all row two seats.
Access to the third-row seats is simple thanks to the easy access system. This allows the seats in row two to be fully tilted and slid forward simultaneously. This new mechanism improves the accessibility to row three considerably. Manoeuvring is simple, with a control located on the upper part of the seat back. Combined with the wide opening offered by the large rear doors, this system makes it easy for passengers of all sizes to fit into the seats in row three.
The exceptional modularity offered by the sophisticated seat architecture sets it apart from competitors, enabling a wide range of configurations between row two (60/40 bench seat with 40/20/40 backrests) and row three (50/50 backrests). The new E-5008 offers a huge, flat floor area and up to two meters of loading length with all the rear seats folded down.
The floor of the boot behind row three can be lifted and stowed vertically behind the seats, freeing up space for at least two pieces of hand luggage. With all seven seats in place, the new E-5008 has a boot length of 42cm, making it the only one in its segment to be able to accommodate numerous objects and luggage with ease.
There is ample additional storage space under the row three seats. With a capacity of around 80 litres, this space is ideal for storing various items out of view. A special drawer is available as an accessory to make optimum use of this space. The luggage cover, which adjusts to row two or three as required, can be stored conveniently under the boot floor. To make loading easier, the E-5008 comes with a powered tailgate as standard on the GT version.
Excellence: Benchmark electric performance
The new E-5008 offers a range of electric and electrified powertrains that set the benchmark in the segment for performance, not only in terms of range but also by the choice it offers customers.
Designed from the outset as an electric model, the new E-5008 has a range of fully electric powertrains offering from 311 to 410 miles of range (WLTP cycles awaiting approval), including an AWD Dual Motor and a Long Range version.
- ELECTRIC 210 Single Motor: 73kWh and 311-mile range (WLTP cycle)
- ELECTRIC 230 Long range Single Motor: 98kWh and 410-mile range (WLTP cycle awaiting approval)
- ELECTRIC 320 Dual Motor AWD: 73kWh and 311-mile range (WLTP cycle awaiting approval)
This range of permanent-magnet synchronous motors offers more power and better efficiency. The single-motor versions offer 345Nm (157kW) or 345Nm (170kW). The dual-motor all-wheel drive version provides a total power output of 320hp (157kW at the front and 80kW at the rear for a total 237kW). The front motor delivers 345Nm of torque and the rear motor 170Nm.
The STLA Medium “BEV-by-Design” platform provides record levels of onboard energy between the wheels, with up to 98kWh useable capacity. Its high-performance design, which also allows efficient aerodynamics (SCx of 0.77), means the E-5008 offers the best range in its segment of up to 410 miles. The 400V lithium-ion high-voltage battery of NMC chemical composition (nickel, manganese, and cobalt) is located under the floor and powers the electric motor. Battery thermal management uses coolant circulation. This allows for ultra-fast charging, optimised battery life, and a longer lifespan. The optional heat pump ensures a comfortable temperature for the occupants while preserving battery energy.
Two types of onboard chargers are available for AC charging, an 11kW three-phase charger comes as standard and a 22kW three-phase charger is available as an option. For DC rapid charging, the new E-5008’s CCS port (Combined Charging Standard) accepts power up to 160kW. This allows the E-5008 to recoup 62 miles of range in just 10 minutes and recharge from 20% to 80% in 30 minutes.
To support its customers in their transition to full electrification, PEUGEOT also offers the new 5008 with a hybrid powertrain from launch. The 5008 Hybrid 136 e-DCS6 features the PEUGEOT HYBRID 48V system, which consists of a new-generation 136hp petrol engine coupled with a dual-clutch six-speed automatic gearbox that incorporates an electric motor. Thanks to a battery that recharges while driving, this technology offers extra torque at low revs and a reduction of up to 15% in fuel consumption (5.8 L/100 km WLTP cycle awaiting approval). In urban driving, the new 5008 HYBRID 136 e-DCS6 can operate up to 50% of the time in all-electric mode.
The new 5008’s engine offering is completed with the introduction of the PLUG-IN HYBRID 195 e-DCS7 which combines a 92kW electric motor with a 150hp petrol engine. Its large capacity battery allows it to operate in all-electric mode for more than 49 miles (WLTP cycle awaiting approval). Thanks to a 60-litre fuel tank, the new 5008 is capable of travelling greater distances between fuel stops.
