Hyundai promises UK customers delivery within days
Hyundai Motor UK has confirmed the supply of “thousands of electric vehicles in 2020”, in its aim to become one of the UK’s largest provider of electric cars. Customers looking for an all-electric Hyundai can now order their car with delivery in as little as a few days.
In January this year, Hyundai announced they would be ramping up production to meet the unprecedented demand for low and no-emission cars in the UK. The South Korean manufacturer began producing the Kona Electric at its Czech plant and now say they can meet demand. According to an announcement in March, 150 electric cars per day are currently rolling off the production line.
“Ever since we began offering our pioneering electric vehicles in the UK, we have been overwhelmed by demand for them,” says Ashley Andrew, Hyundai Motor UK managing director. “This year, we can deliver more electric vehicles to our customers than ever thanks to a much-improved supply that not only delivers for our customers but also helps in our goal of becoming one of the largest suppliers of electric vehicles in the UK.”
Hyundai now promises that “Buyers can order a Hyundai Kona Electric or IONIQ Electric now and receive their car in as little as a few days,” and assures customers that the newly re-opened dealerships are secure against Covid-19. The South Korean manufacturer is also allowing UK customers to buy online with their new ‘click and buy’ options, or to or contact the dealer directly to discuss their exact requirements.
Hyundai offers three plug-in models: Hyundai Kona Electric, Hyundai IONIQ Electric, Hyundai IONIQ Plug-In, saying that these will be joined by the plug-in hybrid Santa Fe by the end of 2020. Also by the end of this year, Hyundai promises that three-quarters of the entire Hyundai range will be electrified (hybrids, plug-in hybrids, all-electric).
