DS Automobiles Introduces DS E-Tense FE23 at Vivatech
VivaTech fair, an event not to be missed for technology and innovation, opens its doors tomorrow at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles. DS Automobiles will introduce its third generation 100% electric single-seater to the public. The seventh edition of VivaTech – a major European event dedicated to technology and innovation – will be held at Paris Expo (Porte de Versailles) from June 14 to 17.
Much more efficient with over 40% brake regeneration capacity
As a benchmark when it comes to electric technology and the holder of an exceptional track record in Formula E since 2015 (4 championship titles, 16 victories, 47 podiums, 22 pole positions) DS Automobiles couldn’t miss out on this exceptional event.
The Stellantis Group’s premium brand will showcase the DS E-TENSE FE23, a single-seater currently entered in the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship, which focuses on the most advanced technologies in the field of electric motorsport.
Designed and developed by DS Performance, the competition arm of DS Automobiles, the DS E-TENSE FE23 is the fastest Formula E car ever made, with a top speed of 280kph on a street circuit. It’s also lighter than its predecessor, the second-generation single-seater, and, above all, much more efficient with a braking regeneration capacity of more than 40 per cent.
The brand will produce only 100 percent electric cars from 2024
The DS E-TENSE FE23 is also more powerful than its 350kW predecessor, with four regenerative wheels. A front powertrain adds 250 kW to the 350kW from the rear, doubling the regeneration capacity of the Gen2 to put out 600 kW in total.
Driven by France’s Jean-Eric Vergne, the only two-time champion in the history of Formula E, and Belgium’s reigning champion Stoffel Vandoorne, the DS E-TENSE FE23 is one of the most comeptitive single-seaters in Season 9 of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship.
Thanks to all the experience gained in Formula E, DS Automobiles is accelerating its technology transfer to electrified production vehicles. This will be of great benefit to the customers of the brand, which will produce only 100 per cent electric cars from 2024.
DS Automobiles, which has just celebrated its 100th Formula E race, will be exhibiting the spectacular DS E-TENSE FE23 in Hall 2, dedicated to innovation in sport.
Eugenio Franzetti, DS Performance Director:
“The DS E-TENSE FE23 is the result of the hard work and experience of DS Performance’s engineers, expressing the very latest in automotive electric technology. So it’s more than fitting that our single-seater should be at the heart of the VivaTech show, which has established itself as Europe’s most important event in the field of technology. It’s a great honour and a huge pleasure for us to showcase a car that illustrates the future of electric mobility to a passionate and well-informed group of visitors.”
