Turkey’s Karsan to Deliver 30 E-Minibuses to Sofia in 2022
Turkish commercial vehicles manufacturer Karsan said it signed a contract with the public bus transport company of Bulgaria’s capital Sofia for the delivery of 30 electric minibuses in 2022.
Karsan will deliver the e-JEST electric minibuses to Stolichen Avtotransport through Bulgarian dealer BulBus, the manufacturer said in a statement last week.
The price of the contract was not disclosed. “We believe that we will command a significant portion of the Bulgarian minibus market in 2022,” Okan Bas, CEO of Karsan, said in the statement.
Karsan doubled its exports in 2021 compared to the previous year and entered 2022 with the same growth target, Bas added. The six-meter long e-JEST electric minibus has a range of up to 210 km.
Earlier this year, Karsan said that it sold four e-JEST electric minibuses to the municipality of Dobrich, in northeastern Bulgaria.
