First Spanish order for BYD’s 13-metre low-entry ebus
It is the first ever order for BYD of the 13-metre bus in the Iberian Peninsula. The delivery of the electrically powered buses will take place in 2023. Arriva, a new BYD customer, also operates bus routes on some routes between the cities of Alcorcón and Mostoles to Madrid, for which BYD’s 13-metre buses will be used. The two variants of the electrically powered BYD bus have a number of new features. BYD’s bestseller, the 12-metre low-floor bus, features new BYD iron-phosphate technology that allows the 422 kWh batteries to deliver a range of 300 kilometres on a single charge. BYD mentiones improved comfort for the passengers due to mood lighting, USB charging points and sound-absorbing carpeting.
Driver safety has also been improved through the use of newly developed safety glass around the cab. BYD’s all-electric 13-metre low-entry bus makes its debut in the Iberian Peninsula with the new generation of BYD’s iron-phosphate battery on board. In addition, the bus features BYD’s innovative 6-in-1 controller, which controls the entire bus ecosystem, resulting in improved reliability and
maintenance efficiency. The Battery Thermal Management System also contributes to reliability in both extremely cold and hot conditions, which is ideal in the Spanish climate. The 13-meter low-entry bus has a reinforced internal structure and an intelligent warning system to increase the safety and stability of the bus.
