Stellantis continues to lead UK electric van market
Stellantis continues to lead the UK electric van market, according to the latest registration figures published today by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT).
Peugeot took the crown for the best-selling electric van brand in the UK, having increased its market share by 2.6 percentage points over 2023 to 16.7% year-to-date, with Vauxhall following closely behind in second place. Stellantis brands have sold 3,816 electric vans so far this year, over three times more than the second best-selling electric van manufacturer, with a market share of 43.7% year-to-date.
Lee Titchner, Director, Stellantis ProOne UK, said: “The strength of our electric van offering is embodied by the presence of Peugeot and Vauxhall at the top of the sales charts, outstripping the nearest competitor by some margin. Our status as the leader of the UK electric van market comes as a result of our ambition to spearhead the electrification of British van fleets with our next-generation e-LCV line-up.”
Stellantis currently produces the Citroën ë-Berlingo, Vauxhall Combo Electric, Peugeot E-Partner and Fiat E-Doblo at its Ellesmere Port plant, the UK’s first EV-only manufacturing facility. From 2025, Stellantis will also produce electric vans at its Luton plant.
Stellantis accounts for more than a quarter of all vans sold in the UK so far this year with a market share of 29.9%, equating to 47,378 vans registered in 2024. Vauxhall is the UK’s second-best selling van brand year-to-date, while the New Citroën Berlingo Van is the UK’s best-selling small van so far in 2024.
